HDMI splitter is a special accessory that is used to divide into many HDMI signals which can then be connected to multiple display devices. HDMI cables usually have two ends: the first is the final output device and the other end has two or more HDMI outputs that have split from the line. Alternatively, hardware splitters such as an hdmi splitter 1 in 2 out are connected to the output devices via HDMI cables and used with an external power source to divide the signal between multiple display devices. This cable can be configured to easily split and separate lines between four or more displays simultaneously.
The HDMI splitter divides the original signal is only displayed on all connected devices. The image that appears on the screen all is the same and cannot be independently controlled when connected to compatible HDMI devices such as HD receiver or antenna.
However, an HDMI splitter should not be confused with the HDMI switcher routeing. A routeing HDMI switcher provides signals to a compatible output that can be changed manually or via a remote control and can dictate what reaches the output displays.
